Persuasive Writing

In the past 6 writing sessions we have been writing persuasive writing. My one was about why you have to do homework. Here is my writing:

Homework Creates Success

Homework is necessary! Homework is important. Information, effort, responsibility, engagement and reliability can only be accessed when doing homework. Homework is THE ONLY WAY for your child to learn.

When you go to school and do a test, they will have all the information because you have done homework the night before the test and then you will get top marks.You always hear your Mother saying, “Homework is very useful for later on in life and you will, get a lot out of homework and will learn heaps.” You would have studied and learnt all the different questions. Scientists have tested how much information kids retain and how much they improve. The facts show that kids improve immensely in their tests and have retained heaps of information letting them get a better job. You would learn about things that you would use later on in life and homework is the only option for that to happen.

Homework will make you more engaged in everything.  You will find everything interesting and will love it. You will find all subjects interesting and will enjoy them a lot more. You will be really engaged and enjoy everything they do. Everyone hears their Dad saying, “Once I did my homework I was fascinated in everything.” You have to, have to like everything. We both know it, that’s why you want to do homework.

We both know that if you put effort in, success will come out. That’s why we do it. You should too. When you do homework and put in a lot of effort we know that the result will be great. No one else can put in effort apart from you! Success is easy if you put in effort and to do that you have to do homework! Grandparents always say, “When I was younger I didn’t put in a lot of effort, then I did my homework and I got top marks for everything.” Homework is easy if you put in effort, and everything else will be easy too once you’ve done your homework. We know it will be, that’s why we do it!

We both know that your responsibility is appalling and will walk out of the house unprepared and it’s raining and you have even forgotten to eat breakfast! The main cause of that would be NOT DOING HOMEWORK!!! Your teachers always say, “My responsibility was poor I always walked outside still in my pyjamas, then my teacher gave me homework and I always got dressed and new what to do.” After doing homework you will take full responsibility for yourself and will know what to do. There is NO way round this, it is 100% proven that if you do homework, your responsibility remarkably improves.

We know that homework makes you heaps more reliable. We know that you have to do homework. If you want to do your favourite sport or go to a maths competition, you have to be reliable enough to hand the notice in.You've all heard someone say to you, “I was never a reliable person right until the point when my teacher gave me homework, and from then on I always handed my notices in.” People will trust you more if you do homework because you, will know that you are reliable. The only way of making yourself more reliable is doing your homework.

Now to sum things off we both know that homework is very important and has to be done to succeed in life that’s why we do it. I’m sure that you would agree with me that homework is very important and is the only way to do well. So start doing more homework!!!!
